Wotnot – Facial Wipes

Wotnot – Facial Wipes

I was recently given the opportunity to trial Wotnot‘s Facial Wipes, which promises ‘a facial wipe so natural your skin will love it as much as you do’.

Given that I do use harsh chemicals on my skin, by way of BHAs and Retinol, soft wipes are an absolute must. Anything remotely harsh and my skin will react badly. It will get red and, from time to time, break out in a rash.

So these wipes were something I was looking forward to giving a whirl.  They are chock full of goodness – aloe vera, jojoba oil, Vitamin E, and certified organic almond oil – so I had very high hopes that they would cleanse but not aggravate my skin.

Packaging

These come in usual wipe packaging. Nothing unusual or earth shattering. As always, store this upside down in your bathroom cupboard, just to ensure that, when you pull a wipe out, gravity has worked to ensure the wipe is soaked in cleanser.

Product

When I first pulled the wipes out, I was marginally disappointed by the texture.  It felt kinda flimsy and weak.

But man, oh man, don’t let the delicate appearance of the wipe fool you.  This is incredibly strong and works incredibly well to remove all makeup.

To prove how good this is, I pitted the Wotnot wipe against a product that only a nuclear explosion can budge – Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Eyeliner. I’ve found that, in the past, even oil based cleansers struggle to remove this bad boy.

Before

After

And here’s the wipe after the cleanup!

I don’t like to exaggerate (ok, I do), but this stuff should have been used during the oil spill in the Gulf.  To shift Double Wear so easily and without much effort is nothing short of miraculous.

Even though this works well, I still follow up with my cleanser, just to make sure everything is gone.  But this is an amazing and effective first step in my cleansing routine.  Just a reminder – it removes Double Wear!!!!

Oh, and no aggravation at all. I can’t quite figure out how this works so well, but I’m not about to start an argument with the wipes. So I’ll just sit back and enjoy.

Price

$12

Would I repurchase?

Oh my goodness yes!  Instant HG wipes.  LOVE.

They are amazing when I first used them they removed glitter, eyemakeup used with Ben Nye Liquiset and longstay lipstick. Unfortuneatly as my skin seems to actually like chemicals I was allergic to them :(

They should have had these back when I was a kid. My mom was always telling me to wipe that smile off my face.

I do love a good wipe mostly because I'm a lazy slob and can't be bothered to wash my face properly at times :P

Hahaha, that was pretty much my comment on Gloss Queen's review of the same product. On the one hand, I like to look after my skin. On the other hand, I'm bone idle. It's a constant battle.

I was actually looking at their baby wipes at the health food shop yesterday and considering getting them for my face. I only use wipes when I'm not wearing makeup, so the 80 for $8.95 is more economical for me since I don't need them to remove cosmetics. I'm most impressed with the towels being biodegradable since I can't bring myself to keep using regular wipes that contribute to landfill :(
