Yves Saint Laurent – Touche Eclat

Yves Saint Laurent – Touche Eclat

I feel like this is a momentous occasion for You’ve Got Face. YSL’s Touche Eclat is such a legendary product and yet, I’ve never actually bought it until recently.

I don’t necessarily believe in miracle products but I think this product might seriously be one. It’s not a highlighter and it’s not a concealer. It’s like a little wand of magic that instantly transforms how I look.

I don’t want to sound like a fan girl but, ladies, if there is one thing you ask your better half for Christmas, this should be somewhere near the top of the list between world peace and Oprah shutting the heck up.

Packaging

This comes in classic YSL packaging.

On one end is a brush applicator.

On the other end is a button which you click to get the product out via the brush applicator.

Product

You can use this pretty much anywhere you want to highlight (brow bone, centre of the nose, just above the cupid’s bow).  Personally, I only use this under my eyes.

To apply on the eyes, click the button to get a small amount of product onto the brush.  Then pat the brush onto the skin in a ‘sun ray’ pattern.

Then gently work the product into the area by patting with your ring finger.  You can set this with a finishing powder if you like, but be sure to use a powder designed for the under eye area (such as Benefit’s Powderflage).

I love this product.  If I’m having one of those days (which is pretty much seven days a week), I just pat this on and no one is any the wiser.  It instantly brights my eye area and makes me look younger (well, I think so anyway).

Price

In the US, this will set you back $40.  In Australia, we pay an eye watering $70.  I bought this on special at Myer for $55 so it might be worth checking out if the special is still on.

Would you repurchase?

YES YES YES YES – a million YESes.

It come up on special at… Chemist Warehouse? Chemist Direct?… every now and then. I picked up one a few months ago for about $30. Oprah shutting up is still top of my list, though.

I love this product! I just bought it at Chemist Warehouse yesterday for $29.99! $55 is the new permanent RRP as YSL/Myer/David Jones etc realised people were buying it online from overseas so they dropped the price from $78 to $55 :)
