MAC – Pro Longwear Foundation

You guys all well aware of the fact that I’m a foundation junkie. If it’s new and promises revolutionary results (and don’t they all promise that), I’ll buy it. I’m a marketer’s dream because I will believe pretty much anything I’m told.

Hence, my purchase of Mac Pro Longwear Foundation. Would it live up to my lofty expectations, or would it crash and burn like so many others before it?  Odds are, crash and burn but we shall see.

Packaging

Yay, this comes with a built in pump!  Unfortunately, it gets kinda dirty really quickly, but YAYYYYY for the pump!

Product

On the days my skin behaves, this is sublime.  It gives me full coverage without looking cakey and it seriously lasts from morning to night without fading, slipping or going blotchy.

On other days, however, it just doesn’t work.  If you have a hint – and I mean HINT – of dryness, this will cling to, and exacerbate the appearance of, the dryness.  It also means it flakes off, leaving my skin covered where it’s moisturised, but bare where it’s not.  Very unpleasant.

I think the trick with this is to make sure your skin is doused in moisturiser.  I find long wearing foundations drying generally, so I’m sure this isn’t an issue specific to this foundation.

Would I repurchase?

I’m not sure yet.  Give me a couple more months and I’ll give you a final opinion.
