Product Review – Bloom Lip Butter

Bloom Lip Butters are aimed at ‘combining the deep moisturising benefits of a balm with the sheer natural colour of a subtle mineral tint.’
I bought the Queen of the Night butter on a whim whilst on holidays last year. Was this a lasting connection or just a holiday romance? Jump to find out.
Packaging

These are so cute to look at. A small, but quite heavy, clear jar. Complete with a tiny mirror.
But that’s where the love ends. The pot is impossible to work with. You can’t just dip your finger in without finding your nails covered in lip butter. The only way to get the product out cleanly is with a brush, which defeats any chance of this being a product you can apply on the run.
Product

I have to be honest. I don’t like this product.
For a start, it’s just not t very moisturising. I expect a lip butter to act as a moisturising agent, but this is no better than a gloss.
Which I could live with if there was colour payoff. But there isn’t. I know this is supposed to offer a stain but I really have to work to get that. The above is around four coats of the butter, and I can still see my natural lip colour shining through.
Price
These are an eye watering $26. In my opinion, way too expensive for what you get.
Would I repurchase?
No. I’m kinda kicking myself for buying it in the first place. Some holiday romances just don’t work.
