Product Review – Kerastase Chroma Riche

Product Review – Kerastase Chroma Riche

There’s a good reason why I’m avoiding showing you my face at the moment. I’ve had a mega breakout, the magnitude of which can be measured by the fact that the travelling freak show would knock me back if they saw me.

Today I have a hair mask from the good people at Kerastase.  A total indulgence but is it worth the expensive price tag? Read on to find out.

Packaging

This is very typical Kerastase mask packaging.  Beautiful, sleek, but utterly impractical.  Perhaps your showers are better laid out but I can’t fit this on my shower shelf.  So it sits in the bathroom cabinet and I transport it to the shower where it sits just outside the door until I need to use it.

I think this would be much better packaged in a tube.  Sure the tub is GORGEOUS but I want functionality as well as beauty.

Product

The texture of this is like soft butter.  It’s totally lux and decadent.

To apply, I scoop out a walnut size of product and just massage in.  I leave it in for 10 minutes (I shave my legs, exfoliate, think about chocolate) and then rinse out.

This stuff is amazing.  It leaves my hair so soft and shiny.  And smelling delicious and clean.

I use it twice a week.  My hairdresser recommended not to use it more often because it is rich and can leave your hair feeling weighed down.

Price

Here is the BIG drawback.  This cost me an eye watering $57.  Not a typo. $57.  Which is obscenely expensive.

I’m not sure even I can justify that amount for a hair mask.  Sure, it will probably last me a long time and it really is superb in terms of results but…. yeah….. $57.

Would I repurchase?

On the basis of product quality, absolutely.  On the basis of price, I’m not sure I would.  I’ll wait until I get to the bottom of the pot and then decide if I can live without it.

I think Mercury is about to retro, thus, women breaking out in zits. I have some too. Where in the world are they coming from? HmmmmI love haircare products that perform so fantastic. But when they cost a lot, it makes it so out of reach.

The price is a real drawback. Even for me. I'm not sure I'm able to justify it.
