Product Review – Chi Chi Eye Magic

Product Review – Chi Chi Eye Magic

Something a little different for you guys today.

If you’ve been reading YGF for a while, you’ll have noticed that my application skills are pretty…. well…. crap. Let’s be honest here.

I have walked past Chi Chi’s Eye Magic for ages and never indulged. I’ve been intrigued by the idea of a sticker, coated in eyeshadow, being pressed on the eye and – voila – it looks great.  No blending.  No mess.

When I spotted they were on special last week, I snapped up one thinking ‘Oh, what the hay. If it all turns out pear-shaped, we can all sit around and laugh at my silly’.

So are you guys going to laugh?  Jump it to find out!

Packaging

These come in a box with seven single strips. Each strip is sealed in plastic. Very hygenic and it guarantees that the shadow stays in place until you need it.

Once you tear open the plastic, this is what the applicator looks like.  The material is like soft Styrofoam, which means it’s pretty easy to apply to the lid.

Product

To apply is so easy even I can do it.  Holding the end of the applicator, simply press on the skin and hold for around 10 seconds.  Then peel off and it’s done.  No really, it is as easy as that.

Ladies, I am totally in love with this product.  It is so easy to use and the results are…. well you can see how amazing this looks on.

Once the shadow is on, you can either leave it as is, like I have, or blend it in.  In terms of longevity, I find this does crease and wear easily if you don’t wear a primer.  Wear a primer, however, and it will last for as long as you want it to.

Price

I believe these cost just over $10 normally, but I picked up mine for $5.  Which is extraordinary value for such a fabulous product.

Would I repurchase?

Abso-f*cking-lutely I would.  For those of us who are just no good at eye makeup application, this is an absolute godsend.

Stay tuned because this month’s giveaway involves this amazing product!  Details coming up in a couple of hours…!

I have been skeptical too. You are the first to show the results of using it. Now I'm more inclined to try it. I remember Avon having this a few years back.

What a cool product! I could see myself using these to figure out what looks good together…I'm trying to branch out from “light brown/medium brown/dark brown” lately. I wonder if they make a variety pack?

    that's actually pretty dope :)

Is it blended in the last photo? Because I like how it looks with your eyes open :) I'm just still a bit skeptical because everybody's eye shape is different, and if I have to blend it I would rather just apply shadow myself XD

  • JacieO

I was sceptical too but I suspect this would work for most eye shapes. Yes, in the final photo, it's blended but, because my lids are kinda hooded, you can't see the pink anymore.

  • JacieO

    I agree. :-)

  • JacieO

No they don't do a variety pack, but that's an ultra cool idea. Hopefully Chi Chi will read this review and put that great idea into action!

  • JacieO

I think it's a really good product. I've worn it about five times now and I've been complimented every time.

    Thanks Zara!

I'm pretty hopeless, Jess, so something like this is a godsend.
